Our Story

City of Norwich Brass was formed in 2014, bringing together a group of enthusiastic musicians with a shared goal: to create a high-quality brass band rooted in the local community, with the ambition to compete at the highest possible level.

Starting life in the Fourth Section, we quickly established ourselves as a band to watch. Through hard work, commitment and exceptional leadership, we gained promotion in consecutive years, moving steadily up through the Third and Second Sections. The highlight of our journey so far came in March 2022, when we were crowned London and Southern Counties 2nd Section Regional Champions at the Stevenage Contest – earning promotion to the First Section.

Today, we are back in the Second Section, but are recognised as one of the county’s leading brass ensembles. Whilst we take our music and our competitive success seriously, we remain true to our founding ethos: a friendly, inclusive band where musicians of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy making great music together.
