City of Norwich Brass competed in the Second Section of the London and Southern Counties Region for the first time this year and returned with the winner’s trophy. Not only that, the bass section of Keith Simmons, John Lee, Andy Johnson and Daryl Skuse were awarded the trophy for the Best Bass Section, and the conductor, Mark Ager won Best Conductor Trophy.

Although the band was promoted from the Third to the Second Section after a successful contest in 2019, restrictions during the pandemic meant that the 2020 and 2021 Regional competitions had to be cancelled.

Now they start preparations to represent the Region at the National Finals in Cheltenham in September.
